Human Rights Association for Victims of Coercive Conversion Programs(HAC) “Conversion pastors, avoidance from the law by hiding behind the victim’s family”
“Violation of human rights and Coercive conversion” The South Korean government remains silent... Rather, other countries point out the seriousness

The 2nd Anniversary for Gu Ji-In who died of coercive conversion on Jan., 2018 was held at the 18th of Jan., 2020 in Gwangju, South Korea. The anniversary was under the theme “Remember 9, remember and shout.”

About 1,000 members of Human Rights Association for Victims of Coercive Conversion Programs(HAC), external personnel and citizens participated in this memorial ceremony hosted by HAC (Chairperson Choi Ji-Hye) to pray for the repose of the deceased. They wanted that barbaric human rights violation and deaths involving means of kidnapping, assault and imprisonment to convert own’s religion forcedly would never happen again.

Before and after the ceremony, the members of HAC carried out following activities to publicize to citizens the seriousness of the coercive conversion that is still taking place in the democratic South Korea, where religious freedom is guaranteed by the Constitution. They also operated both a show booth to announce cases of damage caused by the conversion and a civic engagement booth to write a memorial message.

The major members of HAC are the victims kidnapped, violated, and imprisoned by their family whom the conversion pastors in the Korean Heterodox Counsellor incite. However, the legal punishment to the conversion pastors has yet not to be taken.

An official in HAC said, "The reason why it is difficult to punish them is because they use methods to order kidnapping, assault, confinement, and intimidation by hiding behind the victim’s families without going to the front to avoid the law," and “In such a way, the conversion pastors take ‘The Conversion Program Consent’ forcedly from the conversion subjects and when some problem happen they shift all responsibility to subjects’ family.”

According to the report released by the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of HAC, “The Report about the Reality of Coercive Conversion,” the number of the whole conversion victims from 2001 to 2019 was 1,534. There were 861 assaults, 1,280 intimidations, 1,338 forced leaves of absence, 1,293 forced signatures on the conversion consent, 109 forced doses of sleeping pill, 682 restraints, 977 kidnappings, 1,121 confinements 43 divorces 13 forced hospitalizations to psychiatric hospital, 1 death of the victim’s family, and 2 death of the victims.

At the memorial service, Jang Gye-Hwang, the chairman of the Korea Historical and Territory Foundation, said, "The will granted to humans by God and the freedom of human rights granted by the nation to the people are individual rights that no one can infringe. Nevertheless, we were very sorry to have let go the late Gu Ji-In. The reason was the choice of religion granted by God, but human rights were ruthlessly trampled on and not protected by both family, society and the nation.” “In the condolence and remembrance, other victims like Ms. Gu should not be occurred,” he stressed.

"It is shocking that human rights violation took place in the human rights city of Gwangju," a twenty female university student said. "It is sad that people of my age died from religious problems in a religious freedom country. I hope our country and all citizens will step up to prevent such a tragedy not to happen again," she said.

The late Gu Ji-In was detained in a Catholic monastery in Jangseong, South Korea for 44 days by her family in July 2016 and forced to convert her faith. In the following year, June 2017, she informed the reality about the coercive conversion to the Blue House in Korea and appealed for the punishment of the conversion pastors and the enactment of the prohibition of religious discrimination.

She was detained again and forced to convert to a pension in Hwasun, South Korea, on Dec. 29 of the same year, was taken to Chonnam National University Hospital on Dec. 30 due to difficulty breathing by his family's assault, but was dead of hypoxic brain damage on Jan. 9, 2018.

After the death of Gu Ji-In, the article about the call for “The Coercive Conversion Prohibition” released on the site of “National Petition” of the Blue House and more than 140,000 people agreed to enact the law, but the Blue House abruptly deleted the article because the victim’s identity was in it and has yet to give an answer it.

Other countries, on the other hand, has expressed concerns and warned of the seriousness of human rights violations and illegalities caused by the coercive conversion, rather being a warning sign to the South Korean government.

At the 41st U.N. Human Rights Conference held in July last year, the European “CAP Freedom of Conscience” (CAP-LC) officially issued a statement condemning the forced conversion in South Korea.

At “The Ministerial Conference on the Promotion of Religious Freedom” held at the U.S. State Department office building in the same month, 15 major international NGOs criticized the South Korean government with the same content. They said, “We sent a letter of the calling for the shutdown of the coercive conversion to president Moon Jea-In,” and “Theological dispute is freedom but It is a clear crime kidnapping and imprisoning people.”

The Open Bible Seminar on the Second Coming and Harvest, hosted by Shincheonji Church of Jesus, The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony. Already it was held in two big cities.

So what was the reaction of those who took part in the Open Bible Seminar in the cities? Let's take a look at the interviews of the participants!

Prof. Seokyoung Gohng
"It (Shincheonji Church) has great words from the Bible that we must learn. Today's event was so beneficial. I hope Shincheonji Church will provide this word for the youth and for people throughout Korea. Shincheonji Church respects other religions, and also promotes freedom of religion. Slandering other religions and the practise of coercive conversion programs is the worst. We must stop that."

Mr. Gyeongju Nah, A teacher of Won-Buddhism
"I listened very well to him speaking. It was incredible that Chariman Lee of Shincheonji Church fully explained the Bible with the words of the Bible. I've heard that Chariman Lee is now very old, but he was so energetic and vigorous. His words about the harvest time and end time sounded good to me. I believe that we need to live a life that keeps the word of God."

A Christian from Guri city, Gyeonggi province
"I thought to myself that I need to perceive the words of the Bible, which I don't know. I'm going to read the Bible again from Genesis."

Mr. Younggil Noh, a citizen in Seoul
"I had a little taste of heaven today. I saw the look of every participant and they looked happy and smily. I thought to myself, 'wow, heaven is being created like this'."

Mr. Donghyeon Kim, a church elder
"To be honest, I don't know the Bible much in spite of my position as an 'Elder'. He, Chairman Lee, explained much about Revelation, such as the 12 tribes and sealed 144,000. Yeah, I've read all of them and I know these things are in the Bible. However, he is actually carrying out these words in reality. He really is doing that. I think that this is the right thing, and I also think that I need to do a Bible study."

Mr. Lee
“It’s my first time participating in Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ seminar. I experienced a very beautiful and true church. It's my first time participating in such a seminar like today's and I believe that I’ve had a taste of heaven. I was amazed by Chairman Lee’s message and I appreciate his words, despite his old age. I had a very good and joyful time here and I hope that there will be more opportunities to listen to his words.”

Mr. Jeon
“I hadn't ever thought about the Bible, but it is amazing knowing that the word in the Bible is actually being fulfilled according to prophecy. I applied for their follow-up education course because I still have questions and want to know more. It’s difficult to imagine but there are amazing things that I want to know more about and learn.”

Mr. Joh
“I can recall bit-by-bit what he (Chairman Man Hee Lee) preached 5 years ago. Like last time, he reiterated that we have to know the word of the Bible. It’s difficult suggesting to others that they listen to him because of the false rumors people have heard about Shincheonji Church of Jesus. I think it is important to make time to listen to him.”

Mr. Kim
“I was impressed to hear about the two seeds - the seed of God and the seed of the devil - and I wondered what they were. He (Chairman Man Hee Lee) asked, ‘Are you harvested?’ I don't know what that is in the Bible, so I'd like to find the answer.”

Mr. Jongcheol Jung. A pastor from the Full Gospel denomination.
“I was confident that I knew a lot about the Bible. I was moved by the chairman’s words and received much grace from him. I also want to learn this word to give to my acquaintances. Moreover, after today’s lecture, I will tell my colleague pastors that Shincheonji Church of Jesus is not a cult or a heretical church.”

Mr.Jeon, who participated after reading a newspaper advertisement
“The seminar changed my thoughts about Shincheonji Church of Jesus. I would participate in it again more than 10 times. I want to listen to the word from Shincheonji Church of Jesus again. I’m applying for their follow-up course.”

Ms. Roh
“I’ve only heard about Shincheonji through rumors but, after listening to him with my own ears, I thought that this is the true church. I can’t apply for their follow-up education course because of my work schedule so I will take their online course.”

Ms. Kim
“I remember that the blood Jesus shed 2000 years ago was to establish God’s Kingdom - New Nation and New People. However, some people loudly oppose and hinder the work of God and Jesus. This really shows their evil intentions"

Seoul Open Bible Seminar on October 4th

What is the reason why God works by sending down the Bible to us? It is to create 12 Tribes in the Bible, the New Time, the New Kingdom, the New People by gathering those who are born in the seed of God. What you can know here is that all people were born in the seed of demon before creating those who are born in the seed of God. What is the reason?

God created all things and wanted to live with men, but demon made Adam disobey the promise of God by seducing him. The sin and death came in the world, and God was forced to leave. So God made the work of healing to save people, and in that way he sent a true pastor to prove the fact (truth) so that people could know the story of God and come into God. On the other hand, Demon, who interrupt God, made false pastors to make a lie so that people could not recognize the word of God and pointed the finger at the kingdom of God as cult.

Those of you who read this must belong to God instead of being taken over by demon! So, how can you belong to God? God promised to create the New Work, Sow, and make the New Covenant through the prophet at Old testament. And Jesus came at the time of the First Coming and fulfilled it. Then, He promised to Harvest the ripe fruit of his seed at the Second Coming, and to rebuild the kingdom of God with those who are harvested. So the believers who wait for Jesus must know when the harvest starts and whether the harvest is happening now. Is it right?

Noah made the ark and shouted out for 120 years, but people ignored it and didn’t enter the ark. Since it is written in the Bible that the Second Coming is like Noah's time, wouldn't people be judged like Noah's time if people ignore the evidence about the work of the harvest? You won't get on ark of salvation again?

The people who participated in Seoul Open Bible Seminar on October 4th had very positive responses.

7th Oct., Victims of Coercive Conversion Day

7th Oct., Victims of Coercive Conversion Day was held by Human Rights association against Coercive Conversion (HAC) in the front of Bosingak Pavilion, Seoul, South Korea on 7th Oct. 2019, 14:00~16:00 (UTC+9). The purpose of the event is to commemorate the memory of late Ms. Gu Ji-in and Mrs. Kim Sun-hwa who unfortunately died of the coercive conversion and to call for revealing the reality of the coercive conversion to the world hoping no more victims of the conversion.

HAC is where the people who are victims of the coercive conversion gather and do campaigns against the conversion for religious freedom. The coercive conversion is an act forcing to chance one’s religion with neglecting religious freedom by several conversion pastors who belong to the Christian Council of Korea which is representative Christian group of South Korea. This conversion pastors have managed the Korean Christian Heterodox Counsellor and they only want to make money ignoring the conscience of believer. The damage caused by them is : 1,338 leave of absence from school or work, 13 forced hospitalization to psychiatric hospital, 3 killing and so on. Although the Coercive Conversion Programs spread out, the Korean government only walk on eggshells and acquiesce it.

But in many countries around the world, campaigns against the coercive conversion and for religious freedom is happening. As an example, the coercive conversion in the Republic of Korea was officially criticized at “Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom” held in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. which about 100 governments and about 500 groups (NGOs and religious organizaitons) participated in. And in 7th Oct., Victims of Coercive Conversion Day, Willy Fautré, the representative of Human Rights Without Frontiers, referred that he supported this ceremony because he want religious freedom and the coercive conversion was a criminal act.

The sister of late Mrs. Kim Sun-hwa said “To prevent the repetition of innocent blood loss like my sister's, I will tell your unjust story to the world more and resolve your deep sorrow at any cost until the human rights abuse and violence by coercive conversion disappear.” telling the story of Mrs. Kim who was unjustly killed by the conversion. In addition, Park Sang-ik, the representative of HAC, mentioned that he regretted the reality of the coercive conversion occurring in South Korea, the country of liberal democracy, and wanted no more victims of the conversion.

The ceremony progressed while lots of members of HAC and citizens shouted the chants for the prohibition of the Coercive Conversion Programs. I hope the Korean government and media spread this truth so that the conversion pastors can no longer stand in this world.
A STAR IS BORN

A STAR IS BORN, 2018

Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga star in the movie 'A STAR IS BORN'. In the movie, although she has a musical talent she couldn't show her ability because of her complex of appearance. But a person who truly recognizes and loves her leads her out to the world

Before I comment on a movie, I want to talk about how it was made.

A STAR IS BORN, 1937
A STAR IS BORN, 1954
A STAR IS BORN, 1976

the movie is the fourth remake. So the story of it, nearly 80-year-old, may sound corny.
At first time, Beyonce had been cast as the female lead, not Lady Gaga. However, there was Beyonce's pregnancy and the male lead also had several candidates including Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Smith and Johnny Depp.

Meanwhile, Bradley Cooper said he would direct the film, and Lady Gaga was chosen to recreate the film. (Bradley Cooper is the male lead and director.)

When making the film, Lady Gaga said she wanted the main characters to sing in person. So Bradley Cooper took vocal training for six months and spent a year learning to play the guitar so sang directly in making film. As he sang, Bradley's voice tone went down. That's why his voice sounds so sweet.

OFFICAL TRAILER, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSbzyEJ8X9E&t=7s

In the film the old story is certainly stale to us. The focus of the movie seems to be the emotion of characters.

And the music.
The music in the second half of the movie was a bit disappointing but there were beautiful and sweet OST in movie.

Overall, the story was boring but the expression of emotion and music was good.
We are living in, walking between and working inside building. In cities, people people are busy with their work rather than looking around space.

But, magnificent building has its own story like as people have. Everything makes up the story of the building, including looking outside, process of way in and out, its construction. The story of architecture is Sequence, communication with space.

The following examples show us the squence.

1. Laurentian Library in Firenze
There is Laurentian Library in Firenze. The library, made by Michelangelo, has thought of Renaissance and the architect's idea.
First, we can see the stairs in entrance. The feature in here is not a single line of stairs. And it is dark because there is no window with light in it. This means that knowledge is open to everyone but there is the state of darkness before people get knowledge.

If we go up the stairs, we will find the reading room. Here is partly lighted by the side windows. By reading books, light comes through knowing.

Beyond the reading room, there is a space for keeping books.
The ceiling of the space is a large dome but the middle of the ceiling is pierced, so the light drops vertically from above.

So the whole light came in. While the Roman Pantheon has statues of gods, the library has books around wall. This means that Books, Knowledge, guide us to whole truth and light.

2. Ando Tadao's architecture.
Tadao Ando was a boxer but later learned Western architecture. So, his architecture shows western geometry with Japanese architecture style, and strong determination like a boxer.

His pieces show a strong will to be one with nature.
The Azuma House in Japan is made of exposed concrete.
This shows the purity of architecture by showing the material as it is.

And when we go inside, we see a structure that is pierced in the middle. This forces people to pass through an outside environment when passing between rooms. (If it rains when you go to the bathroom, you should get rain.) Tadao Ando said, "Why do you want to get cut off from the outside through the building?"

And there is a light church in his. Until then, architects couldn't build a church that has a cross with light, but he made it. It is Church of Light.

3. The temples in the East
When we visit China, Japan or Korea, we will find a temple. the temples are not under but on the mountains. To see a temple, we will climb the temple and see the Buddha statue in a breathless state.

Being out of the state makes us think of going further to paradise. And being in the mountains gives us the feeling of being cut off from the world.

There are many buildings that contain the sequence in modern times. Why don't we communicate with space for a while?

The Renaissance including many Arts and Geniuses has been in Firenze

The Ospedale degli Innocenti is one of architectures built in the century.

It is Europe's first orphanage run by citizens' funds. The orphanage, made by Brunelleschi, has gorgeous structures of arch shape and exhibitions such as beautiful pictures and statues designed by Michelangelo, Botticelli and so on.

The warmth of the house is that the things parents leave their children with ,necklaces and textiles, has been kept even more than 500 years old. Maybe just in case that parents would come back later..

Also interviews of people raised in the place exist. An interview of them is impressive. The person in the interview was brought up when she was a baby. After a few years, however, his biological parents came and said they would raise their children again. The trial took place and the case was won. the birth parents reared their children again.
she lived in a different values from her baby and spent three months in a hospital with severe lung problems, but her real parents rarely visited her. So she lived a very difficult life even though she was in the parents.

And she left words in the interview. "A family is not a family just to stay. Family is what we are making."

The Innoticelli orphanage is like a place where Renaissance art and human heart are fused together.
