In Korea, there are lots of controversial news about between Shincheonji and COVID-19 (New Coronavirus). As fake news have been spread rampantly, people should distinguish them. Shincheonji Church of Jesus has released its facts in regard to COVID-19 on its site. In this post, I will show some of them.

18 February Notice on the Worship Service of Shincheonji Church of Jesus in Regards to COVID-19

Hello. This is Shincheonji Church of Jesus.

 

In the morning of the 18th, the Daegu Church of Shincheonji was shut down, and an epidemiological investigation and disinfection of the church began.

 

Furthermore, to protect the health and safety of church members and local residents, all branch churches of Shincheonji in Korea have decided to suspend meetings and worship services, and all services will take place online or at home instead.

    

Please take note of the above.

 

 

Starting from 18 February, Shincheonji Church of Jesus carried out indoor disinfection, and completed disinfection of its 74 churches and affiliated buildings across the nation by the 21st through public health offices and other facilities.

February, the Headquarters of Shincheonji Church of Jesus has closed down all Shincheonji churches and their affiliated buildings, including the headquarters office, and has halted all activities, such as meetings, evangelizing, etc.

In addition, Shincheonji provided a list of all Daegu Church members and a list of all congregation members who visited the Daegu Church to public health authorities, and each public health facility. It instructed them to go into self-quarantine and contact public health facilities, and they are currently going through COVID-19 check-up.

 

Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, "We find it deeply regrettable that Korean citizens have been infected with the novel coronavirus infectious disease (COVID-19), which has caused many to be concerned. We are making our utmost effort to follow the instructions of quarantine authorities and local governments and providing all the information requested by public health authorities. We will continue to fully cooperate with the authorities."

Regarding COVID-19 Testing of Chairman Lee, Man-hee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus

 

Mr. Lee, Man-hee, the Chairman of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, underwent the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) screening on the evening of 29 February at the HJM International Medical Center in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province. On the morning of 2 March, the test result came out, in which he tested negative.

 

The HJM International Medical Center is the government-designated medical facility for the COVID-19 screening.

 

Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung stated on the afternoon of 2 March, “The test from the private institution came out to be negative, but we need to reconfirm the results,” and asked for further cooperation to collect an additional sample.

 

Upon the request, Chairman Lee visited Gwacheon public health center on the evening of 2 March to re-do the testing for the virus.
