Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony hold a rally to call for Bible pubilc debate in front of churches belonging to the Christian Council of Cheonan (CCC) on July 21.
The reason why Cheonan church of Shincheonji suggested the pubic debate is because CCC proposed an open discussion to Shincheonji Church but unilaterally declaring a breakdown during the consultation process passing the buck to Shincheonji and then criticizing through the Christian media.
About 1,000 people participated in the rally. Although they made clear their intention to respond to public discussions several times, CCC pretend to be one-sidedly disorder. And the people of the rally said CCC were on the declining trend of their believers and blamed Shincheonji like witch-hunting.
CCC will appear in the public debate if they are confident. It is selfish and not religious if they are to blame to Shincheonji for their decline. They will have to reveal their mistakes as soon as possible.
The Christian Council of Korea has continually refused to engage in an open discussion on the Bible with Shincheonji church. I hope it happens so that the public's misconceptions of Shincheonji church can be clearly addressed
