There Were Infectees Before “Patient 31” of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), a Shincheonji Member.
 

 

  The infection period of infectees before “Patient 31” overlaps with “the period of a Chinese school trip group to Daegu,” and “The Chinese New Year.”

 

  As the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) released that there were 6 patients showing suspected symptoms of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the controversy about the first spreader of COVID-19 outbreak to Daegu City is reignited.

 

  The KCDC confirmed 6 patients of COVID-19 by analysis on 503 pneumonia patients over 19 ages hospitalized in Daegu City on 26 February. Two of them who were in Gwak hospital were found to take pneumonia 6~9 days before Confirmed case no. 31.

  The hospitalized time of these patients are a 65-year-old man on 29 January and a 82-year-old man on 1 February. The day when 31st Patient’s symptoms were found was estimated as 7 February.

  As it was revealed that Patient 31 in Daegu was not the first spreader, the controversy who the first spreader is would be resurfaced. Through this briefing, the first person with symptoms in Daegu was 65-year-old man of pneumonia hospitalized in Gwak hospital on 29 January up to now.

 

  The moving route of this patient has not been concretely confirmed. But it has reasonal suspicion based on the epicenter of COVID-19 being Wuhan in China.

 

  When the first period with symptoms is on 29 January, the first infection period would start from about 15 January considering incubation period, 14 days.

 

  Coincidentally, this was the time when the mass Chinese school trip group visited Daegu. Another infection may have occurred around 24 January, considering that it usually takes four to five days to develop symptoms after infection. This time, exactly overlaps with the Chinese Spring Festival holiday.

 

  Many of the Chinese tourists who visited Daegu at the time were found to have walked around Daegu without masks on YouTube and other websites posted by the Chinese. In particular, Daegu citizens already concerned about the spread of COVID-19 as many Chinese tourists flocked to Daegu duty free shops after the restriction on entry of Chinese at a Duty Free of Shinsegae department store in Busan in January.
